Under 10 Show Excellent Performance on Florida Tour

WISP Under 10 team registered to play in the Cocoa Expo 2009 Nations Cup International Soccer Tournament July 23rd to 26th with two guest players namely Alexis Peri ( grandchild of Wilkie Chin Sam formely of Chaguanas) and Grace Malone of the soccer clinic.

MATCHES PLAYED:

Date: Saturday July 25th, At 9am against Port St John United U-11 team of Port St John, Florida

Results: WISP U-10 (5) vs. Port St John (0)

Goals for WISP: Alexis Peri (1) Renee Mike (2) Jordell Edmond (2)

Date: Sunday July 26th at 2pm between East Orange Knights Soccer Club of Orlando, Florida

Results: WISP U-10 (18) vs East Orange Knights (2)

Two other matches were won by default as the teams did not show. WISP Under 10 players were awarded Gold medals for their performance.

WISP was also refunded Cash including the tournament fees and the members were taken to the Cocoa beach Pier for Dinner at Alantic Ocean Resturant and to Islands of Adventure Park at Orlando.

Two of our Under 17 players Romario Mike and Micah Renie were registered as guest players with the Waldrick Warriors U-17 team of New Jersey and played in four matches. However the team did not make it to the finals but Romario Mike was adjusted MVP of the team and played as their central defender.

All players benefited from the Soccer Clinic proceeding the tournament and were able to interact will players of their peers and also from the goalkeeper coaching from German Coach Udo Schenatzky and from English Coach Keith Mclouchlin of Western Connecticut State University.

The Waterloo Institute of Soccer players recently attended the Couva Talparo Tabaquite Regional Corporation 2009 Civic Awards Ceremony, where they recieved a Sports Award. The event was held on Thursday June 18th 2009.....
