WATERLOO STARLETS U-12 UNDISPUTED WINNERS OF ALL SPORTS PROMOTION FOOTBALL FIESTA
Waterloo Starlets commonly known as Cap Off Youths remaining unbeaten in the U-12 age group of this year version of the All sports Promotion Football Fiesta held on Sunday 16th April 2016 at the Nelson Mandela Park in St Clair, Port of Spain.
Among the sixteen teams across the country, Waterloo Starlets stood out as one of the team who won all their preliminary and final matches without conceding a goal.
Teams competing in this age group were:’
Skhy FC; T & T Maestros Int.; Trincity Nationals; La Horquetta XF; Pinto United S.C; Laventille United; St Anns Rangers; QPCC; Trendsetter Hawks; Morvant Caledonia YA; Moruga FC; Crown Trace FC; St Clair Coaching School; Marabella Family Crisis Centre; Ste Madeline Strikers; Malabar Young Stars FC and Young Vets.
In the semi finals, Waterloo Starlets defeated Marabella Family Crisis 1:0 with goal from captain Tyreke Harding .
In the finals, Waterloo Starlets opened with a splendid goals by Jkwon Bailey who dribbled pass the Trendsetter Hawks defender and drive his shot into the net. At the end of regulation time, Waterloo Starlet triumph 1:0 with goal from Jkwon Bailey who was named the player of the tournament.
Raymond Jurawan, President of the Waterloo Institute were in high praises for the U 12 team as he elated that this teams two years ago at age U-10 competed at the Barcelona Summer Cup in Spain and represented the country well placing 5th in that international youth football tournament.
He continued that plans are in progress to again take this highly competitive U-12 team to Spain to compete in the Barcelona Summer Cup International Youth Football Tournament during the mid -term holiday.
